What is 3on3 Hockey?Dec. 12, 2007
3on3 hockey is best described as "organized pond hockey", where kids can develop their skills in a spring/summer league that emphasizes fun over winning.
In 3on3 hockey, each team has three skaters and a goalie on the ice at a time, giving players considerably more time to skate and handle the puck. The unique rules, including no icings and no two-line offsides contribute to a fast, exciting pace and this wide-open format promotes creativity amongst players of all skill levels.
To keep the emphasis on fair play and fun, teams are balanced for equal competition, post-season playoffs have been eliminated and every player has a turn winning the 'Player of the Game' award.
3on3 Hockey by Adam Bennett leagues run from May to July and games are typically played on weekends (except holiday weekends; where possible).
Our leagues are currently available to both house league and rep boys and girls from novice to midget ages. Players may register as a team or individuals. Teammate requests are welcomed and every effort is made to accommodate the players.
